Emberlit Wood Burning Stove Review

The Emberlit Titanium Wood Stove is one of the lightest and most compact stoves on the market.  It packs up flat to less than 1/8”, is 4”W x 6” H and weighs less than an iphone (5 oz.).  It has a number of additional features that push this stove towards the top of the ultralight wood burning stove list.

Setup and Design Features

The conical design and side air holes provide for minimal smoke output and for a very efficient  fire.  Similar to most of the wood stoves in this class, it burns small sticks, pine cones and other small organic matter in the forest.  Because of the side hole and the ability to burn longer and larger sticks maintenance to keep the flame going will be reduced.  Once you have a nice flame going just put a couple of thick/long sticks into the access whole and let it burn.  Click here to see a video of how it works.

Comparison Information

The pros far outweigh the cons on this stove.  Due to the minimal size, durability, and efficiency, the Emberlit either meets or exceeds all comparable wood burning stoves on the market.  The Emberlit Titanium will cost between $75 and $85.  If you are not as concerned with weight you can get a stainless steel version for about $20 less.

Before you go out in the woods it’s always a good idea to test out your stove to make sure you have a good feel for the stove and how to build an efficient fire.  Also, it’s important to test the pot you will be using to assure it will work effectively with the stove.

How does the old saying go about the simplest things in this world being the best?  It really can’t get much simpler than this stove yet it seems to provide all of the same benefits as the other wood burning stoves.  You will get that camp fire feeling in a stove that will support a 10 inch dutch oven yet only weighs 5 ounces.

The folks at Emberlit did a good job putting together a design that has all of the key features and meets the criteria for the ultralight need out there.  As long as you can find a few sticks in the forest you should be able to boil a liter of water or cook a hotdog.  The cons of the stove are obviously outweighed by the great features on this one.
