Weber Q1200 Grill Review

Weber have made some spectacular grills, and this Weber Q1200 model is one of the best if you ask me. It looks sleek, it has an ergonomic design that’s shared with some of their other popular models like the Q1000.weber q1200

It of course has the Weber logo on the front, which is like a stamp of approval and fills me with confidence that it’s top quality. Although the design is compact and the grill doesn’t look that big, there is 189” sq of cooking area under the hood. That means you can hold a cookout for 6 people easily.

You can tell I’m already impressed with the Q1200, so let’s take a closer look at the specifics and see how it stacks up against other grills in its field.

Setup and Design Features

The Q1200 is a re-styled version of the Q120. The Q1200 retains all the features that made the Q120 one of the best selling grills in the Weber range, but brings some new modern styling and aesthetic touches.

The grill comes assembled out of the box, so all you need to do is attach a disposable fuel source and you’re ready to cook. The push-button start is as easy as it gets, and the burner control is responsive and will keep a constant temperature. It’s also available in four colors too, so check stock for the purple, black, blue and white depending on your taste.

The Q1200 has larger handle grips and control knobs, side carry handles, fold-out side tables, and a thermometer in the lid so you can keep an eye on your cooking. The construction is rust and corrosion resistant, durable and lightweight, so transporting the grill and using it is all weathers isn’t a problem.

The grill has one stainless steel burner producing 8,500 BTU. This is more than adequate for the 189” sq cooking surface. I’d say you can easily have 6-8 steaks or burgers cooking at the same time. If you want something a little smaller and more economical I recommend checking out the Cuisinart 180T.
