Setup and Design FeaturesJetboil Sol Titanium Stove Review

Setting up the Sol is straightforward and newbie friendly. Jetboil manufacturer a range of camping stoves and know what their target customers want. In practical terms all you have to do it sit the fuel canister firmly on the bright orange plastic legs. They form a wide base with a low center of gravity, it sits nice and firm so you don’t need to worry about it tipping if you take your eye off it.

The head of the stove attaches on top and then the pot attaches securely in place. After just a couple of runs with these few pieces you can have this all fixed in place in literally a few seconds. Fire up the burner and you’re all set to start cooking. The stove uses Jetboil’s Thermo-Regulate Burner Technology, this delivers a consistent heat output down to 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

As mentioned above it has a low and wide base when set up. There is also good protection against wind and breezes from the pot that sits on top of the burner, so it’s a great performer in all weather conditions. The pot is thermally insulated to retain heat longer, and it has a fabric carry handle so you don’t burn your hands. All the parts, including the canister fits nicely into the pot while in transport.

If you’ve owned older Jetboil models the first thing you will notice is that the Sol Titanium is similar with a few refinements to the design and look. The simmer control is a lot better on this model than the older ones. It’s hard to see areas that they can improve on in its current form, it’s defiantly one of the best backpacking stoves on the market.
